$1 million for improvements at St Augustine’s College Kyabram
The Nationals Member for Murray, Damian Drum MP today announced St Augustine’s Kyabram will receive $1,000,000 from the Coalition Government for the construction of specialised learning areas.
This grant is part of the Capital Grants Program which provides funding to assist non-government primary and secondary school communities to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise may not have access to sufficient capital resources.
Announcing the grant today, Mr Drum said these funds will be a great boost for St Augustine’s College.
“The school will use the funds to construct specialised learning areas including science, performing arts, visual arts and food technology spaces,” Mr Drum said.
“This will be a tremendous new facility for St Augustine’s College and will greatly enhance the teaching spaces in the school.
“It has been a great effort by the St Augustine’s community as they have also committed $2 million in funds for the project.”
Principal Luci Quinn said that students and teachers were excited about the announcement and what this would mean for the college in the coming years.
“At our college the sense of community and partnership with families is key to the learning success and wellbeing of our students,” Mrs Quinn said.
“This funding will see the entire school community benefit and it is a very exciting time for us all”.
Mr Drum said he looked forward to returning to see the development of the new facilities in progress.
