Agricultural leaders in Murray encouraged to apply for funding
Federal Member for Murray, Damian Drum MP, is encouraging leading agricultural figures in the Murray electorate to apply for Government funding to boost their leadership skills.
The Coalition Government’s newly announced $5 million Leadership in Agricultural Industries Fund will help equip leading figures in the farming, forestry and fisheries industries with the skills to advocate for the agricultural industry on a national and international stage.
‘This funding will help individuals in the agricultural sector gain more knowledge about advocating for the industry and having their voice heard in a national debate,’ Mr Drum said.
‘This is a once-off up-skilling opportunity, giving individuals the confidence to join international trade delegations, run national corporate organisations and agribusiness companies.’
Leading figures in the agricultural sector are invited to apply for grants from the Leadership in Agricultural Industries Fund, which opens for applications on Wednesday 5th April 2017.
‘This is an excellent opportunity for organisations in the farming, forestry and fisheries sectors to nominate several employees for further training,’ Mr Drum said.
‘These individuals would then be encouraged to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation as their career progresses.’
Applications close on Wednesday 17th May 2017.
