Damian Drum launches ‘I’m Proud to be from the Goulburn Valley’
Sunday 5 June 2016
I’m proud to say that I’m from the Goulburn Valley.
As someone who grew up near Shepparton, I’ve lived through many of the issues that have been raised with me in my recent travels around the Murray electorate.
We are an important food bowl, providing about 25 per cent of the state’s agricultural production, and our strong economy and culturally-diverse community make our region an attractive place for families, tourists and businesses.
That’s why I have launched new campaign, I’m Proud, celebrating the pride we have in our region.
Together we can continue to grow, creating more jobs, improving public services and building new infrastructure.
That includes critical projects like the Echuca-Moama Bridge, the Goulburn Valley Health redevelopment, the Shepparton truck bypass and the new Shepparton Arts Museum.
I will also continue to fight to have the Murray Darling Basin Authority shifted to Shepparton, bringing with it 300 new jobs.
I will take a strong case for these projects straight to Canberra – the needs of the Murray electorate would be my top priority.
Communities across Murray deserve a choice at the next election and The Nationals are the only party 100 per cent focused on making life better for people who live in rural and regional areas.
I am proud to be from the Goulburn Valley and I would be proud to be your strong local voice in Australia’s Parliament.
The ‘I’M PROUD” video on Damian Drum’s Facebook has attracted over 10,000 views so far.
