Damian hosts Fairley Leadership Group at Parliament House
Member for Murray Damian Drum said today it was great to host the Fairley Leadership Program participants at Parliament House this week.
The Fairley Leadership Program is the signature community leadership program of Goulburn Murray Community Leadership, a community-based not-for-profit organisation that aims to 'Develop leaders to be catalysts for positive change in the Goulburn Murray Region'.
Mr Drum said Wednesday was a very busy day for the group, meeting with parliamentarians, political correspondents and political advisers.
“A particular highlight was the opportunity for the participants to meet and chat with the Prime Minister,” Mr Drum said.
“The Fairley Leadership Program graduates have become part of an important and influential network in the Murray Electorate.
“Many have joined community groups and boards in managerial and strategic planning activities, while others have successfully run for Local and State Government.”
Anthony Brophy,Facilitator of the Fairley Leadership Program saidundertaking the Canberra Study Tour as part of the Fairley Leadership program allows participants to meet with our nation’s leaders in our nation’s capital.
“The experience gained from such interaction and leaders learning cannot be understated and is an integral part of our yearly Program,” Mr Brophy said.
“This Study Tour has included meeting with our local federal representatives, to political correspondents, the Prime Minister and a meeting with his Excellency, General Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove at Government House. All up participants have heard from over 30 high profile and influential people in Canberra."
Mr Drum said he was very pleased to support the program as the graduates serve as role models and mentors within the community.
