Damian Drum to welcome Senator Canavan to Murray
Federal Member for Murray, Damian Drum MP, will welcome the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, Senator Matt Canavan, to the Murray electorate next week.
‘The Minister is coming to Murray to speak to our manufacturers and food processors first-hand about rising energy costs,’ Mr Drum said.
‘Our manufacturers and food processors are struggling with the rising cost of energy. Now more than ever, it’s so important for regional Victorians to have secure, affordable energy.’
‘This visit will also give the Minister the opportunity to speak with business leaders and community representatives,’ Mr Drum said.
“Our energy policy should reflect the needs of users – whether they’re homes or businesses,” Minster Canavan said.
“Damian invited me to come to the region to meet with local employers who need affordable and reliable energy, to keep their businesses running and to keep jobs in the region.
“Regional areas like this, with industries such as dairy and food processing, help steer our national economy.
“We want to ensure strong businesses like these can keep their presence in regional Australia.
"We need affordable energy to make sure that’s the case.”
As part of the visit, the Minister and Mr Drum will visit ACM Pactum Dairy Group in Shepparton, Unilever in Tatura and Kagome Australia in Echuca.
