GOLDEN WATTLE COMES TO BOORT AND BRIDGEWATER
The Centrelink Mobile Service Centre Golden Wattle will hit the road to give people in Boort, Bridgewater and surrounding communities easy access to essential government payments and services in June.
Federal Member for Murray, the Hon Damian Drum MP said the Mobile Service Centre will make a number of stops across regional Victoria this month to ensure communities get easier access to Federal Government services.
“Locals in Boort are more than 100 kilometres away from the closest Centrelink office, the Mobile Service Centre gives people who live in the country the opportunity to access vital services in their own communities without driving long distances,” Mr Drum said.
Golden Wattle is a truck set up as an office, custom-built with the same technology as any other Service Centre that delivers Medicare or Centrelink payments and services, including access to self-service facilities. It is wheelchair accessible and has a soundproof room where staff can conduct free hearing health checks.
“The Mobile Service Centre will be able to help with Centrelink and Medicare payments and services, Child Support information and hearing health checks,” Mr Drum said.
“I encourage residents of Boort, Bridgewater and surrounding towns to take full advantage of the Mobile Service Centre while it is in the area.
“The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) will have someone available to assist individuals and small business taxpayers with advice and information about tax and superannuation. They will also be able to help you to register for myGov, the fast, simple way to access ATO and other government services online,” Mr Drum said.
