Minister Fiona Nash visits Murray Electorate
Federal Member for Murray Damian Drum MP hosted the Deputy Leader of the Nationals Senator the Hon Fiona Nash, Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Local Government and Territories and Minister for Regional Communications in Shepparton today.
“I am proud to welcome Minister Nash back to the electorate of Murray,” said Mr Drum. “Minister Nash has developed strong ties with Murray, having delivered $10 million in funding for the Shepparton Art Museum and establishing the $20 million Goulburn Valley Regional Jobs and Investment Package (RJIP).
The Minister and Mr Drum met with the RJIP local planning committee Chair Sam Birrell to get an update on the region’s investment priorities.
Mr Drum said, “This week has seen the Coalition Government deliver a budget that has regional Australia as a centrepiece. Minister Nash’s leadership in regional investment sees a further $472 million available for regional infrastructure projects.”
Minister Nash commenced her visit to Murray by addressing a meeting of business and community leaders organised by the Committee for Greater Shepparton at the Shepparton Motor Museum this morning.
“It’s great to be back in Murray with Damian Drum today, to meet with business and community groups and talk more about the Federal Budget,” said Minister Nash.
“We are backing small business with tax cuts and have a further $200 million for the Building Better Regions Fund taking it to almost $500 million, which is great news for Murray and all of regional Australia.”
