Stronger Communities 2018 Information

The 2018 Stronger Communities Programme- Round 4 will open on Monday August 6.

Communities across Australia are set to share in $22.5 million to improve local infrastructure and provide essential community equipment with applications now open for Round 4 of the Stronger Communities Programme.

The Programme is aimed at funding projects that deliver social benefits and form part of the Coalition Government’s continuing commitment to strengthen communities across Australia.

The Programme will fund small capital projects in each of the 150 federal electorates, which can range from upgrading the local community hall or sporting facility, building new bike paths, or providing essential equipment for the local SES.

Each electorate will receive $150,000 to allocate towards successful projects, with a maximum of 20 projects to be funded per electorate.

The Programme is a four step process.

Step 1. Groups are invited to send in project proposals to my office to be assessed by a community panel.

Step 2. The community panel decides which proposals will be invited to apply to the Department

Step 3. Successful proposals apply for the grant directly to the Department

Step 4. The Department will approve or deny grant applications.

Project proposals close on August 27 where they will be assessed by a community panel. Successful proposals will be invited to apply to the Department.
