FamilyCare does amazing things for many Goulburn Valley individuals and families who need a little bit of extra help, so the federal government was proud to grant them $12,000 towards the purchase of a new people mover. Today Vaughan from Shepparton Toyota hosted FamilyCare CEO David Tennant and me for the official hand-over of the keys.
Mr. Tennant expected the new 8-seater would be put to use as early as this afternoon, saying “transport is a big problem for our client families, particularly larger groups, older clients, or those with disabilities. The people mover will help us to respond to those challenges and make it easier to connect people to services and activities.”
Mr. Drum said “this is a small token of appreciation from the federal government to an organisation that helps people on a daily basis. It is fantastic to be able to provide lasting help to organisations like FamilyCare who are vitally important to the people of the Goulburn Valley.”
This grant is just the first of twenty in Nicholls that has been allocated under round 5 of the Stronger Communities Programme. The programme provides $150,000 to each federal electorate to boost important community organisations like FamilyCare.
